David C. Hughes graduated from The Ohio State University in 1971 and began a distinguished career in architectural design, project management and construction administration. In 1976, while associated with the firm of Feinknopf, Macioce and Schappa, Architects, Mr. Hughes earned his registration as a licensed architect. Assuming the responsibility of Project Architect, Mr. Hughes began to manage commercial and residential projects of varying scope and construction budgets up to seven million dollars. In 1981, Mr. Hughes went into private practice serving a diverse clientele. From 2004 to 2010, David was principal in RP Hughes Architects with a specialization in fire station planning and design. David has now returned to his own practice to more directly serve his clientele. He continues to be responsible for the design and management for all of his architectural commissions.
Hughes has over 39 years of professional experience in the design, production, delivery, and management of architectural and interior design projects, as well as a wide range of consulting disciplines. This includes over 29 years in private practice delivering new custom single family residences and residential additions/renovations, rehabilitated office buildings, retail centers, restaurants, warehouses, schools, vehicle maintenance facilities, manufacturing/industrial facilities, and fire station. Since 1981, Hughes has worked on numerous small to medium size renovation and repair projects providing construction management, architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical coordination from design through bidding, contract negotiation, and construction.
