The Makoy Center features three unique event spaces to suit different needs. Our Emerald Room, Burgundy Room, and Mezzanine Room. Each space has its own foyer space and facilities.

How long have you been in business?
Makoy initially offered banquet and convention services in 1987. It has gone through two major renovations. In 1995 the original facility was completely renovated in a 1920 "Art Deco" décor. Later in 2000, we added 20,000 square feet to the original 10,000 square feet, plus added two and one half acres for parking..
What is your primary product or service?
Makoy provides a venue for multitude type of events . There is no limit on which types , including, wedding, corporate, school proms & reunions. On occasions we have been honored with marriages of four generations in one family. Obviously we stated with a child Bride. Some 30% percent of our weddings include the ceremony. It's nearly free, absolutely beautiful plus guests love the continuous flow of the reception, including pictures outside by the lake.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
With four daughters, and now fourteen grand children, the party business seemed in order. With our customer satisfaction level, it's like selling happiness. The prestigious "Knot " magazine has honored Makoy with "Best of the Knot" for the last two years. .
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Besides the size capacities and the flexibilities, guests marvel at how smoothly our events flow. We assist in helping our clients eliminate the drag times, which all too often detract from the various events. In addition our motto is "affordable elegance" which says it all.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Our one location can be adapted to your needs as required. Our three ballrooms plus meeting rooms can be utilized to meet your needs, All three ballrooms can be combined if desired or remain completely independent. Each has it's own entrance,a private men & women rest room, Bar, dance floor, Raised Stage and eloquent lighting.

The Makoy Center is located in scenic "Old Hilliard" , which is a located in the Northwest suburb of Columbus. We are 2 miles outside of Interstate 270 at the exit 13 which is just south of the Tuttle Mall..
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept all levels of payments. That also includes trade points with IMS which is quite popular nationwide.
Which areas do you service?
Geographically we naturally attract the nearby communities. Plus we are fortunate with interstate accessibility which good results. The multiple area hotels offer discounts for Makoy guests. In addition Dublin and Upper Arlington are predominant for private events.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
George Yoakam is the sole owner of the Makoy Center since 1985. However, Kaitlyn Kato is in charge of sales. Clay Daniels is the operations manager over the personnel and event perfection. Matt Eder is the beverage manager, to make sure your guests receive their drinks on time, at the right price. Finally, Noah Yates is the executive chef who keeps our customers raving about our food.
What are your hours of operation?
Appointments can be made for Demonstrations and quotes six days per week from 9:00 to 4:00. Makoy offers a complimentary food and beverage tastings on four occasions per year. The next scheduled one is July23rd, 2014.
Doors open at 5:45 pm and buffet dinner begins at 6:15.pm. All three of the Ballrooms are completely decorated, the lighting will be demonstrated. One of the rooms will be set-up for the wedding ceremony itself,
