How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
AldenLaw was founded in 1975 by John L. Alden, who has practiced in transportation and warehousing law for twenty-five years. John's transportation clients range from local bus and motor carriers to the largest nationwide carriers, including specialized carriers of all types. He also represents shippers, warehousing companies and freight brokers, including small local operations and national firms. A fast-growing segment of clientele are shippers requesting guidance in the ever-changing transportation and logistics areas, as well as new motor carriers entering into business and existing carriers dealing with safety issues.

How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Our office is located in downtown Columbus, with close proximity to the Franklin County Courts and free parking for our clients.

From the north: Take I-71 South to the Broad Street exit, and turn right on Broad Street. Go west on Broad Street to Third Street and turn left. Go one block and turn right on State Street. Go one block and turn left on High Street. Go down High Street to Livingston Avenue, and turn left onto Livingston. Make an immediate right onto Pearl Alley and another right into our parking lot.
From the south: Take I-71 North to I-70 East, and then take exit 100A. Get in the right lane coming off of the exit ramp. You will go through two stoplights (Front Street and High Street). Immediately after crossing High Street, turn right onto Pearl Alley. Take another immediate right into our parking lot.
From the east: Take I-70 West to the Fourth Street/High Street exit in downtown Columbus. When exiting, get in the left lane. Go to the third traffic light, and turn left on High Street. You will go over a bridge crossing over the freeway. At the first light after crossing the bridge, turn left onto Livingston Avenue. Make an immediate right turn onto Pearl Alley, and another right turn into our parking lot.
From the west: Take I-70 East to Exit 100A. Get in the right lane coming off of the exit ramp. You will go through two stoplights (Front Street and High Street). Immediately after crossing High Street, turn right onto Pearl Alley. Take another immediate right into our parking lot.

Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
John L. Alden, who has practiced in transportation and warehousing law for over thirty years. He advises over 200 transportation-related clients on business and transportation matters. In addition to providing transportation and warehousing counsel, John litigates cases in agencies and courts. He also has achieved beneficial results representing clients in litigation pending before the Ohio State General Assembly. John always keeps his clients' business needs in mind and works to develop legal strategies to meet those needs. He is a principal of his Columbus law firm, which has specialized in transportation, tax, business, corporate, and litigation since 1975. He is a member of the Columbus Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Transportation Lawyers Association, the Association of Transportation Law, Logistics and Policy, the Delta Nu Alpha professional transportation fraternity, and the Conference of Freight Counsel.
